The CEO Buys In (Wager of Hearts Book 1) by: Nancy Herkness

"Amazon" says: "Self-made billionaire Nathan Trainor feels restless and disillusioned. His company may be thriving, but he can’t find a woman who sees him for more than his wealth. With his love life in the red, he meets two other billionaire bachelors at the ultra-exclusive Bellwether Club. The three of them make a wager of the heart: they must find women who love them for who they are, not their money.
Savvy office temp Chloe Russell is trying to scrape together the money she needs to support her grandmother. So when a flu epidemic strikes Trainor Electronics and she’s promoted to Nathan Trainor’s assistant, she jumps at the lucrative opportunity. But then Nathan himself falls ill, and he and Chloe must work from his penthouse while he recuperates. Before long, it’s clear there’s genuine heat between them, and it’s more than just a fever spike. Will Nathan win Chloe’s heart—and the bet? Or will their differences destroy any chance for love?"

My Thoughts: Just so you know I am not a gambler, whenever I have gambled I always lost, such as something in school or suchness like that. I told a guy I like him, TOTAL GAMBLE, he broke my elementary school heart. Never recovered. Sang a "Manic Monday" by The Bangles, for a talent show in elementary school, never got on "Star Search". Kidding!! But I don't enjoy singing, preforming or doing speeches in front of big groups. I will do it, but not my thing by far.

I have never been to a casino, unless you count The Simpson's "Tapped Out" game on my ipad? If you like the game here is a FB page "TSTO Addicts" all about it!!! Moe has a casino & I have played to win chips and other stuff in the game.

I had a cold, thinking it was in thanks to hanging out with my Mom and visiting over 250 + friends at a 90yrs' birthday party. If not there, I have not clue where I got the bug, personally I am wondering why it was not any worse?, considering all the flu bug chats going around on the news. But I think I'm pretty much on the mend? Any who, I was down for the count and needed a book to read, several actually ...I found this book & I was totally shocked it didn't have better reviews on Goodreads. I have never read a book, that I have laughed so much at. Laughter is the best medicine. Though it didn't help with my coughing sprees (where you get started coughing and you can't stop??) Can you imagine??! Such a fast read. Love all the characters. It was NOT a serious book, very lighthearted, funny & such a great premise for a book. Wish I had thought of it.

I have found lately every book seems to think they need to take after E.L. James and her 50 Shades of Grey series. I mean come on, find another meme, topic, point, reason to write a book. It's nuts!! Why do folks think they need to base their book on being similar to this or that kind of book? Write a book because you think it will be a hit & usually there is a group out there that will latch on to your book & you will be a zillionaire for sure. PROMISE!!! ( :

A word from this book that was new to me, I had to get out my dictionary to look it up. I was so curious... "breadth" a noun, the distance or measurement from the side to side of something; width. wide rang or extent.

Yet again "niggling" has made it's presence... Is there a rule in the book lands that says you have to use that word in your book at least once to be a good book?

One of my favorite characters from the book, who I would love to meet in person, chat with, giggle with, etc... would be: "Millicent Russell" aka. "Grandmillie" who is Chloe Russell's (the temp.) grandmother. Her ways are too too much, she is just too precious! LOVE HER!

I will definitely be checking out more of Nancy's books. She is a real fun read. Thank you for making my cold much more bearable. When times like this happen, I want to shout it from the rooftop. I LOVED A BOOK, read it because I did say so. THANKS!! But, I am just Beth, from Virginia, WHY? should you listen to me? Because I read like a silly person, constantly, & I know what's good. Maybe I need to start another blog, under another name and share all my not so liked books. Maybe I am like "Sybil" and just love different books for different reasons, or maybe because I have so many personalities in my body that I can appreciate so many different books??! I am not making fun of folks with mental disabilities & I am just saying there must be a reason as to why some folks can like so many different things at once and not others? Beth ( :

Good review!

There are plenty of writers out there who think the fastest way to success is to latch onto a current trend. Several years back it was the supernatural romantic triangle angle, now it's off of 50 Shades (which incidentally is just butchered, awful writing). There's plenty of erotica out there that's a whole lot better written than EL James- and better balanced.
